City Life

Some 10 percent of Magdeburg’s population is of foreign citizenship. This international community makes our city a more colourful and cosmopolitan place and makes a positive contribution to its continued growth. Over time, a series of events and opportunities have come to fruition which are aimed primarily at this international community. We will try to provide an overview of these here. What sort of events take place? Where can people meet up?

Magdeburg offers many opportunities to meet new people: for example, at cultural events, concerts or offers in the neighborhood. On online platforms or in magazines, you can find out where current events are taking place and what's happening in the district.

Culture, cinema and films

The Moritzhof Cultural Center regularly shows films in the original with subtitles or with English subtitles.

The cultural center also hosts and hosts cultural festivals such as the FrankoFolie or Me gusta la música!

In Magdeburg, there are cultural and socio-cultural centers in some parts of the city. They are places for educational and cultural activities, organize encounters and participation. Concerts, theater performances, cabaret and film evenings, readings and exhibitions are regularly held here. The program also includes workshops, courses and seminars, as well as vacation activities for children. The cost of participation varies depending on the event.
